Sulfonic Acid 90% is an anionic surfactant widely used to produce liquid detergents, powders and pastes, degreasers, multi-purpose, detergents, aluminum cleaners and cleansers in general, and is usually the main active ingredient in the formulation. It is generally used neutralized with sodium hydroxide and/or triethanolamine.

As it is one of the most traditional surfactants and has a lower price, it is often applied in cases its performance does not present a very adequate cost-benefit ratio. After all, a low price does not always indicate a low cost in the application within the formula.
