Lauric Amine Oxide is a surfactant of predominantly vegetable and renewable origin, obtained from oils such as coconut or palm kernel. Versatile and biodegradable, it can be used as a primary or secondary surfactant, acting as a foaming agent, stabilizer, and degreaser.
It can act as a thickening agent in surfactant solutions, as well as a foam builder and stabilizer, while improving oxidation resistance and providing excellent fragrance emulsification capacity.
Since it carries no charge at neutral and alkaline pH, it is classified as a non-ionic surfactant, although it acquires a cationic character at acidic pH.
