The oxide amines may have the function of main or secondary surfactant, acting synergistically with other surfactants to improve detergent action. They can act as thickening agents for surfactant solutions, foam formers and stabilizers, in addition to improving oxidation resistance and presenting excellent ability to emulsify fragrances.
Due to its lack of charge at neutral and alkaline pH, it is classified as a nonionic surfactant, although it acquires a cationic character at acidic pH.
The Lauric/Myristic Oxide Amine 30% supplied by Macler is produced by the respected multinational Nouryon under the brand name Aromox MCD-W.
