Macler and Láctea bring the best tensiometer in its category to Brazil

In another step towards innovation and intending to offer more precise and efficient solutions to its clients, Macler, in partnership with Láctea Científica, has just acquired the first tensiometer in the country.

Developed to offer the maximum in precision and versatility, Tensíío features a high-resolution force sensor that provides maximum precision and is capable of measuring low surface tensions and even wettability forces on individual fibers or hair strands. Measurements are performed quickly thanks to exceptionally fast and highly accurate sample positioning.

“This equipment represents a significant investment in innovation and technology for our SmartLab,” says Lucas Micheluzzi, Technical Director of Macler. “With it, we will be able to offer our clients even more precise, efficient, and strategic solutions. For example, we will be able to indicate the CMC of our suggested formulations so that they can have maximum precision in the indicative dilution of the final product.”

In addition, the acquisition of the equipment also allows this service to be offered to the market as a whole, as it is a common demand in the oil and oil products, paints, and agrochemicals industries, where surface tension is mandatory for efficient interaction between a liquid and a solid, as in the case of foliar fertilizers.

Tensíío features 15 different approaches to analyze surface and interfacial tension, wettability, and many other properties of liquid samples or solid bodies, powders, or fibers.

This acquisition was done in partnership with Láctea Científica. Besides the Tensíío, the company also got a foam analyzer that can capture the size and distribution of bubbles using smart video image analysis. The equipment has sensors that allow the diameter of the bubbles to be assessed and how they behave over time, generating behavior graphs and accurately indicating their stability.

Furthermore, it features a temperature control system that allows measurements to simulate real-world applications under consistently standardized conditions. The results
help produce foam quantitatively, according to the needs of each formulation, and also improve stability.

“We are very happy to bring this solution to the Brazilian market. Now Macler is more prepared than ever to exceed its customers' expectations, with precise analyses of surface tension, emulsion breakdown, critical micelle concentration, and various foam parameters in a quantitative manner,” highlights Paulo Peinado, Product Manager at Láctea Científica.
